Questions and Answers
Paris cheap hotels?
Short version: What hotels have good views of the Eiffel Tower, and how can I ensure I’ll end up with one of those rooms?
Longer: I will be visiting family in the London this winter, and will have time for a one or day trip into Paris. Since it’s late December/early January, we think we can probably get a good deal. Due to my lack of imagination, I’d love to have a room with a good view of the Eiffel Tower. Anyone know of any good hotels?

If you haven’t already, research hotels at booking.com and Yahoo Travel.
I’ve never been to Paris so I can’t recommend any specific hotels, but any establishment with a high popularity ranking and relatively low prices is worth looking into. Regarding the room itself, I have always had great luck getting the best rooms just by requesting them. Right after you book online, just call to “confirm” the reservation. They always ask if there are any special requests, at which time you can kindly request a room with a really great view. They usually won’t guarantee availability of the requested room, but I’ve yet to not get my first choice. Since you will be traveling in the off-season, chances are that you will get the requested room. Just remember to be courteous, as this service is a privilege, not a right.
